Today I begin my journey of purging, cleaning and organizing. I'm absolutely sick of looking at my disorganized closets, junk that I will never use or need, and just generally have made up my mind that less is better. I felt overwhelmed by the idea at first, but then I thought maybe the only way to do this is one closet per day.
I started today with my kitchen cabinets. There is so much stuff I don't use. Why did I buy that? Oh well.... I will use it. That leads me to find recipes to go with all the rice, flour, and the huge amount of spices I have accumulated. Sounds like potlucks are in the making here.
If you would like to join me, please do. I would love to have some company, and see where it leads. It doesn't have to be a whole closet. It can be a shelf, drawer, or a closet. Let's just pick one and do it. I spent an hour on this one. One hour out of my day is nothing. There was a lot of trash however. I wonder how many days out of my year this will take?

This is a great idea. It's so easy to get overwhelmed by years of "stuff collecting".
ReplyDeleteHave you thought about using freecycle.org for your unwanted things?
After stumbling upon pictures from Trash City (Egypt) today, it really makes you think about recycling as much as possible. Check it out:

Yes, I love free-cycle! I certainly will be using it. I was just thinking about it before you posted. I haven't seen the photo yet, but I will check it out. Thanks for posting Fe! :)
ReplyDeleteVery interesting video! I can't believe they didn't think about that as they planned to kill all the swine. Those kids are amazing though.
